In a previous post, we have suggested that you take a walk through La Alcazaba<\/a> and through the Teatro Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alcazaba is one of the historical monuments of the city. The word “Alcazaba”<\/em> originates from the Arabic “al qasbah”<\/em>, which means “citadel”<\/em>. It is a walled enclosure from the Islamic era, which served as a defensive barrier against possible invading armies. Inside it, you can see the remains that show us that there have been enclosures, where the residential neighborhoods were located and a small mansion where a governor resided. The spaces with rectangular patios, garden corridors, ponds, fountains and cisterns are still preserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a nice walk to enjoy, as well as the views of Malaga from above, surrounded by green spaces and tranquility \ud83e\udd17<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tour can be done together with the Roman Theater, since it is located at the foot of La Alcazaba. The Roman Theatre \ud83c\udfad, are the archaeological remains of the theater that existed in ancient Malaga (called Malaca). This is the main trace that remains of the Roman presence in Malaga. It was built in the time of Augustus in the 1st century AD, it was partially hidden by the building of the House of Culture and when it was demolished (no more than 72 years ago) in 1951, the Roman Theater could be discovered. It is currently open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday. It is possible to visit the site through a route on wooden walkways and visit the interpretation center that is located next to the theater, where you can see various projections of the history of the theater and the functions it had throughout the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
