The “espeto” is the key product of Malaga gastronomy. Still don’t know what it is? Right now we explain it to you 😎

This famous dish consists of piercing fish, specifically sardines, in a very thin and long rod. The traditional way of cooking this delicious food is to put this rod with all the sardines in a boat (which we will always find on the sand of the beach next to the beach bar), so that it is cooked on the grill. In this way, the espeto will be turned from one side to the other so that it is done on both sides and the sardine is perfectly juicy👩🏻‍🍳

The original recipe is the sardine skewer, but currently we can find many types of espetos: shrimp, squid, pijota, octopus… 🤩

You can find these espetos in any chiringuito (beach bar) on the Andalusian coast, but you cannot forget that the original/traditional ones were born in the city of Malaga. So if you want to try the traditional espeto you have to make a visit to us.
